FAITH

Greetings to you all in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,

I thank God for giving me the opportunity to be a part of the Raise Lives Lent Convention. The topic we are going to meditate on today is FAITH.

FAITH is one of the most significant pillars of the life of Disciples / Christians / Believers who want to follow Jesus Christ and to stand on the firm foundation called Jesus Christ in the world.

Faith is a strong belief or trust in something which is true, based on indirect evidence and experiences.

According to Bible “Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen – Hebrews 11:1 NRSV”. In John 20:29, Jesus was expected that faith from His disciple Thomas, when appearing to the disciples after the resurrection.

Faith is the beginning of everything. Faith is the beginning of blessings (Gen 15:6). Faith is the beginning of deliverance (Ex 4:31). Faith is the beginning of redemption (Mt 9:22. Mk 5:34). Faith is the beginning of eternal life (Jn 3:16). Faith is the beginning of healing (Mt 9:28). Faith is the beginning of miracles/wonders (Acts 3:10, 16). Faith is the beginning of salvation (Acts 16:31). Faith is the beginning of victory (1 Jn 5:4). Faith is the beginning of all our wants (Mt 21:22. Mk 11:24).

There is a concealed truth between faith and the beginning of something we desire to have. What is that truth? It is God’s Action.

Let’s see one example from the Bible,

“In the Gospel of  Matthew 8: 5-13, a centurion came to Jesus and appealed to him that “Lord, my servant is lying at home, paralyzed, in terrible distress." Then Jesus said to him, “I will come and cure him”. Then the centurion said “Lord…; but only speak the word, and my servant will be healed”. Jesus was amazed and replied, “Truly …., in no one in Israel have I found such faith.”

Here, we see the faith of the centurion, and wants that the healing of his servant. That faith and desire made the way to the action of God. Jesus said, “Go, let it be done for you according to your faith”.

So, our faith makes a way to God’s act on our lives.

Abraham believed in God, and it was reckoned to him as righteousness. The people of Israelites believed in God. God delivered them from Egypt. The faith of a woman made her feel well. The two blind men were healed by their faith in Jesus.

As human beings, we all have desires. We try to accomplish them with our strength, money, career, etc. In this materialistic world, we forget to allow God’s action in our lives. We believe in the world rather than God. We believe in our power, money and profession more than God. We forget that God’s actions accomplish our needs, and wants through our faith in God.

So, keep our faith in God and allow God’s action in our life to receive His blessings.

God Bless You!.
